Journey To Bethlehem in Bend, Oregon!

We have had a great time working with the Bend Adventist Fellowship on their Journey to Bethlehem project. This year’s event is going to be December 10-12 (from 6-9 pm) and December 13 (from 5-9 pm) and admission is Free! Here are some of the fun challenges that we encountered on this shoot:

Weather:
This was the first time we have gotten to film in -17 degrees fahrenheit. This actually caused the batteries to freeze, so we would wrap the camera in heat packs, rebalance the Steadicam, and head back out in the cold. The battery would last for a maximum of 5 minutes before it all cooled off again and we would have to go back in and thaw the camera and battery pack.

Lighting:
Our opportunity to film was during the actual event tours, which was held at night, working in very low lighting. We pushed the cameras to maximum exposer levels and even “uped” the exposers in post production (video editing). We were consistently working with changing light colors, going from light by fire to LED Lighting. As you walk throughout the tour, these lights gave off some really cool effects, although the camera did not like it at times. We are really excited that we were able to pull this video together and have a great end result.
